The people of the UK often peer across the pond at our American cousins and wonder why so many are attached to their political party.
Are you not tired with your two party system which serves to rule and divide you?
The British people have been in a state of apathy towards politics for years. We’d never ask a person which political party they vote for, much less judge them for their political leanings. We just don’t care anymore. We have more in common which each other than the politicians that run the country.
We have local elections in the UK this week, quite similar to the mid-terms in the US, and it looks like Labour, the current party in power, is going to be hammered.
Our current leader Keir Starmer is already on the ropes, due to appointing Peter Mandleson as the Ambassador to the US as it has since been confirmed that Mandleson continued his friendship with Epstein, even after he was jailed.
Mandleson was duly sacked and questions have been raised over what the Prime Minister actually knew. The vultures are circling for his blood.
If the local election results are as bad as expected for the Labour’s party, I’m sure the Labour’s party members will be chomping at the bit to replace him.
Politics is a dirty game whichever side of the Altantic you are on. The same cycle plays out election after election yet we keep on playing into the system by voting.
The British public are tired of the current status quo and we really need to ask ourselves why we are still voting and not demanding change
I follow politics but I don’t vote because I don’t believe in the system and never have.
I’ve often wished for a just say no campaign to try to push to reform the current political system where the British public really show the political ruling class that enough is enough.
So, if you’re in the UK and have had enough, it is not your civic duty to prop up a failing political system by voting. It’s your duty to demand change. Take back your power. Do this with your feet by walking away from the voting booth this Thursday and send Westminster a clear message.
